Moving Forward to April 20
Things are really coming together with the garage sale. We have been receiving a lot of good items, such as couches, a treadmill, and tools. We appreciate everyone who has donated and our neighbors who have generously allowed us to store the items in their large garage (which is affectionately known as the garage-mahal.) As we continue to gather items for the sale, please help us gather support by sharing this information with friends and family. We are hoping for a really good turn out at the sale. There will also be some baby items being sold, including tutus, car seat covers, afghans, and hair bows. The yard sale will right on main street, just down from Payson Market and O'Reilly Auto Parts on April 20. We also are going to have items for those with sweet teeth-brownies, peanut butter bars, cupcakes, and other wonderful desserts will be sold there as well. So you can pick something up for your house and your mouth at the same time.

BIG NEWS FROM THE WEIGHTS!!!
We are so excited to announce that we are in the process of adopting a baby! After nearly nine years of marriage we are eager and ready to start our family. We have always believed that it is in God's plan for us and our family to adopt. From a very young age, we both strongly felt that we needed to adopt children. As a young girl, I would play with dolls at my friend’s house and would always pretend that they were adopted. Not too long after we started dating, Joe expressed his desire to adopt. It was thrilling to discover that we both had the same dream of adoption. As we have discussed, prayed, and studied about what is the best thing for us to do, we strongly feel that adoption is the right thing for us at this time. We have a stable income, a home, a strong marriage, supportive family and friends, and a whole lot of love we can offer a child. We feel that we need to care for, provide, and give opportunities to a child who might not have it otherwise. We have no doubts that we can love, support, and care for any child who should come into our home. We can think of no better way to share God's love than to care and provide for one of His children. In the future we wish to bring other children into our home so thathe/she can experience the joy of siblings. We are prepared to raise a child and feel that our experiences with our nieces and nephews, our friend's children, and even with our dog Reugar have helped to prepare us for parenthood. We are ecstatic with the idea of bringing a child into our lives and will offer it all the love, care, tenderness, education, and opportunity that we can provide.
As you may know, adoptions are very expensive and while we have been saving money, we do not yet have the appropriate funds to cover the extensive costs of adoption. We are adopting nationally though an agency called Act of Love. The adoption expenses are between $20,000-$30,000. These expenses include the care of the birth mother, the hospital bills for the child, the agency fees, the home study, the payment of the lawyer, court fees, a background and FBI check, & many other fees associated with adoption.
In addition to our savings, we will be applying for adoption grants and loans as soon as our home study has been approved and we have become eligible to apply for that assistance.
In the meantime, we are seeking help in order to help provide a child with a happy and stable home. There are many ways in which to help. We are planning a number of fundraisers and events to help cover the costs of adoption. Please check our fundraising page to see ways you can contribute.
There are so many lives that are blessed through adoption & we truly believe that all the sacrifice, money, and time it takes to bring about an adoption are heavily overweighed by the joy & love of building families.
